Polynesians in the West!

I found it really interesting how the mixtures of the cultures and different backgrounds came together to a new culture that would stick around forever. I was debating within myself when cultures assimilate usually one tends to die off but here they all stayed alive.

This really was a difficult reading

Who are savages?

I've heard before that when the Spanish invaded the Americas they seen the natives as "savages" and themselves as "civilized,” this name calling still goes on today. Who's actually to say what is a savage and who's civilized? Everyone would like to see themselves as civilized and everyone else as savages because everyone wants to be better than the rest. Every time I read something like this all I can ask myself is accruing to whom is this true? And from on culture to another who can actually say weather this is true or not. I’m pretty sure that to the natives they thought they were civilized and the Christians were being savages, but we don't get to see their account on the topic.

Savages by definition not domesticated or cultivated, wild.
Civilized by definition Bring (a place or people) to a stage of social, cultural, and moral development considered to be more advanced: "a civilized society".

Looking at these two definitions I’ve feel like each person that comes in contact with another that doesn’t act the culture norm is seen as uncivilized and as a savage, what’s exactly a norm?
I think we all just need to stop judging each other and learn to accept other for who they are and for how different others can be.
